About Us

The Entertainment Industry Incubator was officially established as a Florida not-for-profit in 1998.  Since we first hung out our shingle, we have offered a vast array of programming including industry-only networking opportunities, technical assistance, professional development and training.  We have also become an information clearinghouse, industry advocate and offer a wide variety of resources to individual media artists, businesses and organizations.  Most important of all, we’ve created a central space where creatives of all stripes can connect with each other and with folks on the business end of our industry as well

With One Community One Goal as our launch pad, the Incubator has made significant contributions towards local economic and artistic expansion thereby creating many jobs, partnerships and freelance opportunities throughout all Miami-Dade communities and the State of Florida.   Towards this end, the Incubator often partners with other artistic, trade, economic development and community-based organizations.

The Incubator has launched successful programs such as the Miami Filmmaker Project (MFP), an initiative in support of independent filmmaking in South Florida.  The MFP consists of intensive, hands-on, integrated programs with nationally recognized visiting filmmakers serving as mentors and offering structured assistance in bringing specific high-quality projects to the screen.  Click here to read about the Project’s Advisory Board of award-winning film industry leaders and here to read about the upcoming Screenwriters Lab.
